This interview can be summed up in one word: Dawwww! Jaycee is just too cute, and she has a bright future ahead of her. I loved chatting with her.
We spoke right before she went to Nationals in 2018. She did well!! Her story is just amazing and goes to show you, where there's a will, there's a way.

Baton Twirling Project: Are you going to Nationals this summer?
Jaycee: Yes I am.
Baton Twirling Project: Awesome! So what are you most excited about for Nationals?
Jaycee: I’m most excited on the way there because then when I’m on my way there I get to take a nap most of the time.
Baton Twirling Project: I love it. Have you ever been to Nationals before?
Jaycee: I went to Nationals before, but I’ve only went one year. This is my second year. I was five.
Baton Twirling Project: What is your current title and who are you gonna represent at Nationals?
Jaycee: Juvenile Miss Major of the Southeast.

Baton Twirling Project: How did you first heard about Baton Twirling?
Jaycee: I first heard about Baton Twirling when I was three years old, and my Mom, we lived in Jessup. I didn’t have a sport to do and we saw the Baton studio in Jessup and my Mom signed me up for it, and then I just started doing it.
Baton Twirling Project: Where are you from?
Jaycee: I’m from Alma, GA.
Baton Twirling Project: What do you think your biggest accomplishment has been so far as a Twirler?
Jaycee: My biggest accomplishment was when I went to USTA Nationals and I won my solo award in 0-8.
Baton Twirling Project: Oh awesome! Congratulations, that’s so exciting.
Jaycee: Thank you.
Baton Twirling Project: Tell me a little bit more about making a high school Twirling line at 8 years old. That’s so impressive.
Jaycee: Whenever I twirled on the field, I didn’t wanna do it at first, but my Mom told me I had to. Alma didn’t have Majorettes and whenever I came, I twirled 2 or 3 games and then passed then there has been Majorettes been Twirling and all.
Baton Twirling Project: Do you twirl with other girls on the line or is it just you?
Jaycee: There’s other girls on the line, but I’m the only little girl.
Baton Twirling Project: Do they like having you around kinda showing everyone what going on?
Jaycee: I normally just toss and do turns.

Baton Twirling Project: How many hours a day do you think you practice?
Jaycee: I normally practice three or four hours.
Baton Twirling Project: Is it hard work doing all the twirling?
Jaycee: Yes. If you were a Baton Twirler, you would get a lot of work by my Momma. My Mom makes me.
Baton Twirling Project: That’s good though because practice makes perfect. You’ve probably heard that before right?
Jaycee: Yeah.
Baton Twirling Project: What’s you most favorite thing about Baton Twirling?
Jaycee: My most favorite thing about Baton Twirling is the trips because we get to go on a lot of fun trips because we get to swim we get to do all those things.
Baton Twirling Project: Awesome. I like that to. You get to go to the hotel and kinda relax before the competition. Always nice.
Jaycee: I’m mostly going to get all the sleep in the car. There’s more hours in the car then durin’ the night.
Baton Twirling Project: Who has been your biggest influence in Baton Twirling?
Jaycee: There is my coach Megan DeWitt, and my other coach Ceci Dewitt.
